Koska kesäviikonloppuisin aiheutuu usein päällekkäisyyksiä mielenkiintoisten tapahtumien kanssa, on Indicateur Anarchiste-kollektiivi päättänyt siirtää elokuva-illat TIISTAI-ILLOILLE, paikkana edelleen Kurvin Kirja ja edelleen tarjolla mielenkiintoisia dokkareita ja elokuvia kapinan edistämiseksi.

Kesäkuun 6. päivä, kello 19.00 Kurvin Kirjassa, on mahdollisuus kuulla viimeisimmät uutiset Barcelonasta ja anarkistiliikkeen roolista talouskriisinvastaisessa taistelussa. Sisältää pienen historiikin anarkistiliikkeen vaiheista Katalonian pääkaupungissa ja nykyisten ryhmien esittelyn. Puhumassa Barcelonassa asuva anarkisti. Kieli suomi, tarvittaessa voidaan järjestää englanninkielinen tulkkaus.

18H The Chicago Conspiracy (Chile 2010)
The Chicago Conspiracy is a documentary three years in the making. The project was filmed in Chile, and the story extends into the Mapuche indigenous lands of Wallmapu. The concept for the film was born with the death of a former military dictator. We celebrated in the streets of Santiago with thousands of people after hearing the news: General Augusto Pinochet was dead. His regime murdered thousands and tortured tens of thousands after the military coup on September 11, 1973. We celebrated both his death and the implication that the political and economic system which put him in power might itself be mortal. We began this documentary with the death of a dictator, but we continue with the legacy of a dictatorship.
The Chicago Conspiracy takes its name from the approximately 25 Chilean economists who attended the University of Chicago and other prestigious universities beginning in the 1960s to study under the neoliberal economists Milton Friedman and Arnold Harberger. After embracing Friedman’s neoliberal ideas, these economists returned to assist Pinochet’s military regime in imposing free market policies. They privatized nearly every aspect of society, and Chile soon became a classic example of free market capitalism under the barrel of a gun.

18h Lucio
There are plenty of anarchists in the world. Many have committed robbery or smuggling for their cause. Fewer have discussed strategies with Che Guevara or saved the skin of Eldridge Cleaver – the leader of the Black Panthers. There is only one who has done all that, and also brought to its knees the most powerful bank on the planet by forging travellers cheques, without missing a single day of work in his construction job. He is Lucio Urtubia, from a tiny village in Navarra in North of Spain.
Lucio has been protagonist and witness to many of the historic events of the second half of the 20th century. His family was persecuted by Franco’s regime, he was on the streets of Paris for the phenomenon of May of ’68, he actively supported Castro’s revolution, he helped thousands of exiled people by providing false documents to them… But without a doubt, his greatest triumph came in the second half of the seventies. The press called him “the good bandit”, or the “Basque Zorro”. He managed to swindle 25 million dollars from the First National Bank (now Citibank), to later invest the money in causes he believed in. Miraculously, he spent no more than a few months in jail throughout his “career”.
20h Bold Native
Bold Native is a fiction feature film. Charlie Cranehill, an animal liberator wanted by the United States government for domestic terrorism, emerges from the underground to coordinate a nationwide action as his estranged CEO father tries to find him before the FBI does. The film simultaneously follows a young woman who works for an animal welfare organization fighting within the system to establish more humane treatment of farmed animals. From abolitionists to welfarists, Bold Native takes on the issue of modern animal use and exploitation from several angles within the context of a road movie adventure story.
The filmmakers’ background in documentary informed the creative approach to Bold Native. Self-financed and shot with a four person team in real-world locations, sometimes using real activists, lawyers, and formerly imprisoned animal liberators, the film weaves an intricate tale of one of the most important issues facing America and the world morally and ecologically – the impact and consequences of industrialized animal use. And with a character who faces prosecution and potential lifetime imprisonment under the recently passed Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA) for property crimes currently considered terrorism, the film also illuminates the danger of corporate interests influencing the law in a post-9/11 world.

Me haluamme kansainvälisyyteen ja ihmisten väliseen vallankumoukselliseen solidaarisuuteen perustuvan maailman vailla rajoja tai kansallisvaltioiden lippuja. Haluamme sosiaalisen maailman jossa pääoma korvataan vastavuoroiseen avunantoon perustuvilla verkostoilla ja autonomisilla kollektiiveilla.
